Objectives The objectives of the Union Internationale des Œnologues are to represent the national winemaking unions at international level, defend all the levels of this professional sector, prevent the improper use of the term winemaker, guarantee cohesion, solidarity and contacts among the various associations, and contribute to all the action taken in relation to national and international authorities with a view to unifying winemaking practices, harmonising the content of studies, the duration of courses and the diplomas awarded, to ensure that the winemakers can take responsibility for the performance and control of specific winemaking practices.

The Union Internationale des Œnologues may accept a single national association for each country as a member, provided this is set up legally and is the most representative body of the winemakers operating in the country in question.

The operations and management of the Union Internationale des Œnologues are subject to the terms of the organisational charter and the internal regulations.
